A kind of real-life Willy Wonka, Matthew Montero is the Artist, Founder, Chairman, President, Vice President, and private Guide of the fantasy (but real life) world known as THE ICONS MUSEUM. As the sole artist and creator, his vision guides the long-term future and day-to-day operations of the museum. Extremely private, he does not grant interviews and refuses all media and press coverage.
After personally creating and turning ICONS into one of the top museums in Louisiana, Montero, made the decision to turn over the entire museum and ownership to the public. In 2023, his museum was honored and chosen as an official Mastercard Priceless Experience. His innovation in raising the bar of visual art and sensory experience has made ICONS into a singular artistic and cultural treasure not only for the United States, but for the world.
