As the founding member of the most influential band of all time (The Beatles), John Lennon was a pure innovator of music and a spirited & staunch leader of world peace. His life was tragically cut short at the age of 40 when he was gunned down while returning home from a recording session in New York City. Howard Cosell broke the news live to the world on Monday Night Football:

"An unspeakable tragedy confirmed to us by ABC News in New York City. John Lennon, outside his apartment building on the west side of New York City, the most famous perhaps of all of the Beatles, shot twice in the back, rushed to Roosevelt Hospital, dead on arrival."

Despite this unbelievable tragedy, Lennon's masterpiece "Imagine" is universally hailed as a harmony of hope and peace around the world. His legacy and message continue to inspire new generations across the globe.
