Jackson Pollock is one of America's most iconic artists. He is praised for co-pioneering a new art movement called abstract expressionism. His famous drip paintings are staples of American art and originality. His personal life was a dark mix of alcoholism and volatile outbursts. He died at the age of 44 from a suicide car crash, presumably from alcohol-related abuse
